Why You Should Learn CPR

CPR is a life-saving skill that everyone—regardless of age or gender—should learn, understand, and practise. In an unpredictable world, knowing how to perform CPR can make all the difference, not just for yourself but for those around you.

What is CPR?

CPR stands for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. It’s used during cardiac arrest to keep blood flowing when the heart stops. The technique involves 30 chest compressions followed by 2 rescue breaths, repeated for 5 cycles or until the person regains consciousness. If there’s no response, the cycle continues until help arrives.

Why Learn CPR?

Prevent Brain Damage
When the heart stops, brain damage can begin within 4–6 minutes due to lack of oxygen. Immediate CPR can delay this and help preserve brain function until medical help arrives.

Act with Confidence in Emergencies
Emergencies can cause panic and confusion. With proper CPR training, you’ll have the confidence and competence to act quickly and effectively.

You Could Save a Life
With the right knowledge and skills, you can significantly increase someone’s chances of survival in a life-threatening situation.
